THR (The Hollywood Reporter) has reported that Shailene Woodley, who will play Tris in yet another YA franchise "Divergent" and was in the movie with George Clooney in "The Descendants," and Hailee Steinfeld from "True Grit" and the upcoming "Ender's Game" movie as Petra, are in talks to play Hazel Grace Lancaster in the movie adaptation of "The Fault in Our Stars."
Both Shailene and Hailee have received positive acting remarks because of their performances in their previous movies - Shailene for Descendants and Hailee for True Grit. I am quite sure either of the two can give justice to portraying Hazel in the movie. I just hope they wouldn't left out what's written in the book because it would be a total disaster!

Actually, Shailene Woodley was famously snubbed in the 2012 Oscars, so never received a nomination. Hailee would be my number one pick for the role, but I'm excited for the casting speculation that is bound to happen from now until the official cast is announced!
